Priceless

Upon my Dad's return from the Philippines in 1946, he and my Mom were married. I remember Mama telling me that they went down to the Army PX and bought a set of heavy white dishes, some cast iron skillets, and a cookbook for her kitchen.

Seventy one years later, and nine years since Mama's passing, I still have two of those heavy white bowls, two of those cast iron skillets, and this tattered old cookbook with no cover, but inside it is filled with her handwritten notes and hand written recipes on yellowed pieces of paper. --Two 71 year old bowls...probably not worth much. --Two 71 year old cast iron skillets...probably worth even less. --One 71 year old worn out cookbook filled with memories of delicious meals she cooked...PRICELESS!!
